Last updated: TODO — date on publish
Placeholder copy only. This document has not been reviewed by counsel and is not in effect. TODO: replace with the real policy before launch (planned: Phase 5 of the project plan).
What Apace collects
Apace needs a small amount of information to let you read together: an account (email address and a display name), the books you upload or choose, your reading positions and bookmarks, your friends and invites, and messages you send in chat. TODO: enumerate precisely against the production schema before launch.
What Apace does not do
- No advertising, and no sale of personal data. TODO: confirm final wording with counsel.
- No tracking across other apps or websites. TODO: revisit if/when analytics (PostHog) and crash reporting (Sentry) are integrated, and disclose them here.
Books you upload
Books you add to your library are stored so your reading sessions work; they are visible only to you and the people you invite to read them with you. TODO: update for the device-primary storage model (Phase 3) — server keeps metadata, content staged only while a room is open.
Data retention & deletion
TODO: retention windows, account-deletion flow (App Store requires in-app account deletion), and contact route for deletion requests.
Payments
TODO: describe subscription handling via Apple/RevenueCat once IAP ships (Phase 4). Apace does not see your card details.
